Steve Harris: Better for Wichita

This is what I believe is good for Wichita:

Identify private investment  that will lead the way for the
    Goody plan/downtown redevelopment

Facilitate a successful new future for the Union Station as a
retail center and more indication that the Douglas Avenue
    shops will not be empty

Improve Wichita's curb appeal to young professionals looking
for a good place to live with projects that create more green
space, bike paths, and art and cultural attractions

 Support the affordable airfares program

Fight the growing homelessness in Wichita

“We face new challenges to our economic vitality and community growth, our neighborhood and business character, and our quality of life," Harris said. “I’m driven by a strong commitment to help Wichita diversify, prosper and grow responsibly.  I want District 2 and the entire city to be a regional and worldwide center of excellence for both business and families alike."
Steve is dedicatd to working on the issues Wichita residents say are most important to them:
  • Job retention
  • New job opportunities
  • The responsible use of tax dollars
  • Maintaining the high standard of living and quality of life our city enjoys
"I want to increase jobs and business diversification in Wichita by renewing our spirit of entrepreneurism," Harris said. "I think we should reduce the individual tax burden by bringing business management efficiencies to local government while making Wichita America's safest big city through tried and true best practices."

An advocate for community involvement, particularly when it comes to the health of Wichitans, Steve is committed to projects and initiatives that promote the community's safety and well being. Steve also remains an avid supporter of Wichita's theater and arts culture.
